ard1On the quieter western side of town near Kaş' ancient theatre and a church that was turned into a mosque, the Sardunya (Geranium) Otel looks a little tired from the outside but has a great location very close to the sea. I was actually given a room across the road in what calls itself the Hotel Andifli although they are being operated as one business.

I loved my room even though the bathroom was a rather ugly insertion into it. Even though it was set back from the sea behind a garden it felt as if it was very close to the water and with the windows open the sound of the waves was extremely soothing after a long day's touring. The bed was comfortable and I'm sure it was just bad luck that it was visited by several ants during the night. ard2

What makes this hotel extra special is that breakfast is eaten (at least in summer) in a shady, terraced garden just past the Andifli with a lovely view out to sea. There was a decent choice of things to eat too so I could have whiled away most of the day here. You can also swim off the rocks just in front of the garden.

Over in the Sardunya itself there's a large sitting area in the lobby with a book exchange. Service felt almost non-existent but worked perfectly well regardless.

Thumbs up: Lovely location, delightful garden for breakfast

Thumbs down: Plastic bathroom surrounds could do with upgrading
