DEDEMAN HOTEL ANKARA
This eight-storey, 299-room hotel in Ankara town centre has been in business since the 1960s although it was completely modernised within the last 10 years. A sprawling lobby combines a reception area and lounge, all with a vaguely Japanese feel.
Bedrooms are spacious, modern and decorated in muted tones. Expect all the normal five-star amenities: English-language TV, wifi, posh bathrooms, safeboxes, minibars et al. Those overlooking the outdoor pool come with balconies.
Three on-site eateries include the Turkish-themed and pricy Safır, and the less costly Sadabad and Terrace Restaurants. There’s also an indoor pool, a hamam and a fitness room.
