These days it's not easy to find a reasonably priced bed in Assos/Behramkale especially at busy times of year. The Dolunay (Full Moon) Pension is an old faithful that I have stayed at many times over the years and always found to be very servicable if low on frills.
The bedrooms open off a very attractive stone courtyard with little stone tables where you can eat and a washing line that comes in very handy. They remind me in their simplicity of old-fashioned pensions on the Greek islands - twin beds, air conditioning, the odd rug and little else although the wifi worked a treat.
It's surprisingly quiet here and the mattresses are comfortable so I slept like a log. Don't expect too much of the bathrooms though.
Breakfast let the side down a bit, especially as it was served on a little balcony off the main house rather than on the terrace behind the courtyard with its fine view. I gave up on mine, walked down to the harbour and paid through the nose for the privilege of eating right by the water.
The pension is run with some enthusiasm by its female owner and her son who have been in business in the heart of the village for many years now. Reception is in the house just across the road from the much flashier Biber Evi.
Thumbs up: Lovely courtyard, reasonably priced
Thumbs down: Disappointing breakfast
