cesmeliJust minutes' away from the Heykel that is one of central Bursa's main landmarks is this excellent small hotel which is run by women, making it a particularly good choice for lone women travellers. It takes it's name from the marble drinking fountain set into the outside wall, with a special kurna (basin) at a lower level for junior drinkers.

I always seem to land the single room here so I can vouch for the fact that this is a hotel that knows that you can provide everything needed for a guest even in a relatively small space with just a bit of extra thought. The wifi and air-con worked well, the mini-bar was stocked (no alcohol) and everything in the bathroom worked perfectly. You could even switch off the main light without having to get out of bed again to do so.

Personally, I'm not keen on single beds set against walls but most of the other rooms are perfectly spacious and without this problem. I also missed foreign-language programmes on the new wall-mounted TVs.

Rooms at the back are likely to be quietest. cesmeli2

There's a small public sitting area on the ground floor.

Thumbs up: Efficiently run and spotless hotel with good breakfasts

Thumbs down: Only four tables in breakfast room so might have to share at busy times
