A relative newcomer to Ankara’s upmarket hotel scene, the Swissotel, built in 2006, is slightly less conveniently located than the Hilton or Sheraton, set, as it is, in what is the predominantly residential neighbourhood of Çankaya.
But as so often newness is a plus when it comes to décor and amenities, and the hotel certainly boasts one of the city’s finest spas. As well as the more formal restaurant it also features the Swiss Café for lighter offerings as well as the Ambassador Bar for live entertainment.
Comfortable bedrooms come with their own doorbells and “Do Not Disturb” lights. Extras include tea and coffee-making facilities, and safes big enough to store a laptop while it's charging. The bathrooms come with tubs, the higher-up suites with Jacuzzis.
